Welcome to the inn “Lichtenhainer Wasserfall”


The inn “Lichtenhainer Wasserfall” has been family owned and operated for four generations making it one of the longest established tourist restaurants in the “Elbe Sandstone Mountains”. It’s located in the “Kirnitzschtal”, the most beautiful valley of the National Park “Saxonian Switzerland”, makes the inn an excellent starting point for hikers and nature lovers. Next to our house flows the lovely creek “Lichtenhain”, which we have named our inn after. The creek is well known for the waterfall that has been become intensified with the addition of a dam. 


Another highlight in the area is the “Kirnitzschtal train”, that travels from Bad Schandau and usually ending here (except 2011). 


Our inn become a focus of tourism in the Saxon Switzerland over the years due to its convenient location, the surrounding romantic and pure nature, excellent Saxon-Bohemian cuisine and the charm and friendliness of an old family business. From 1st of April 2011 till 31st of October 2011, we are daily open from 09.00 a.m. - 10.00 p.m.

From 1st of November 2011 until and including 24th of December 2011 we are closed.

From 25th of December 2011 until 1st of January 2012 we are open from 11.00 a.m. - 08.00 p.m.
